What was the highlight of Hotel Comillas
A satisfactory stay on the edge of town.
The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and fairly helpful. I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on the quality but it was another £8 on top, which although isn't a huge amount, it made the room nearly £60 a night just for myself. The hotel is located on the edge of town, so about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. Although on the road going out, it is an attractive area next to the park and the Sobrellano palace and 15-20 minutes walk to Gaudi's El Capricho, which is so incredible and really worth a visit!
I made a very last minute booking as I found myself not feeling well and decided I wanted to change from a previous hotel to a hotel with a private room. I wouldn't say that the room was expensive for what it was, but being a 4 star hotel I had slightly higher expectations as I had stayed in 2 and 3 star hotels on my trip that were nicer than this. I had a very early night as not feeling well and I could hear quite a lot of noise through the walls. Wi fi signal was very weak and intermittent in my room. The staff tried to help by turning the wifi on and off, but unfortunately it didn't really make any difference.
